When the Patriots offensive linemen sauntered out of Gillette Stadium on Monday, they knew they’d return to work in a few months without their boss.
The writing was on the wall for Dave DeGuglielmo’s firing a day after Tom Brady was exposed to an orange tsunami in the AFC Championship Game loss to the Broncos. DeGuglielmo saw it coming, and so did his players.
But that shouldn’t be the only change to the offensive line this offseason.
Left tackle Nate Solder has two years and $14.562 million remaining on his contract, which includes a guaranteed $6 million base salary in 2016.
