According to Howard Balzer, the New England Patriots worked out two players on Tuesday including LB Jayrone Elliott and TE Gabe Holmes.
Elliott, 25, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out Toledo back in 2014. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1,535,000 rookie contract with the Packers but did not receive a restricted offer from the team, which is why he’s been testing the open market.
Elliott re-signed with the Packers this offseason but was traded to the Cowboys at the start of the regular season for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2018.
