FOXBOROUGH – The Patriots were hoping to bring back Javon Baker on their practice squad, but he went in a different direction.
Instead, Baker has signed a deal to join the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad, a source told MassLive’s Mark Daniels.
The 2024 fourth-round pick initially made the Patriots’ 53-man roster on Tuesday, but was cut 24 hours later — along with Kendrick Bourne — after the Patriots claimed quarterback Tommy DeVito and defensive back Charles Woods.
After a memorable draft day, Baker’s role never materialized last season in New England.
