Patriots Waive CB D.J. James from the 53-Man Roster; Sign DT Jeremiah Pharms Jr. to the Practice Squad

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have waived CB D.J. James from the 53-man roster and signed DT Jeremiah Pharms Jr. to the practice squad. Pharms was released from the 53-man roster on Sept. 6, 2025.

James, 24, originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick (192ndoverall) by Seattle in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Auburn. He was released by Seattle on Aug. 27, 2024 and then was signed by New England to the practice squad on Sept. 16, 2024. The 6-foot, 184-pounder, began his college career at Oregon before transferring to Auburn for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
