Heading into their Week 4 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, most of the talk surrounding the game for the New England Patriots was if their ball-control offense with Cam Newton, and their off-balanced defense (great secondary, light front seven) could slow down a Chiefs offense that now includes Clyde Edwards and a solid running game.
That was before Saturday, of course, when news of Cam Newton’s positive COVID-19 test broke. The game was soon moved to Monday, and two days later, Stephon Gilmore now joins Newton as a coronavirus-positive Patriot.
Before this week becomes any more hectic (hopefully not), we’ll take you back to Monday’s game — a game that probably shouldn’t have been played then, but was played, nonetheless — where the Patriots had a solid game on defenses versus the vaunted Kansas City offense.
