The New England Patriots have fallen to 3-11 on the season, thanks to a 27-17 home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. In a way, that Week 15 game was a microcosm of the Patriots’ massively disappointing season.
The offense had some encouraging moments before ultimately fizzling out in the second half — in large part due to a head-scratching interception — while the defense played admirably even without receiving much help from the opposite side of the ball. Against a team as talented and well-coached as the Chiefs, that combination can only lead to one end result: a loss.
