The New England Patriots continued OTAs on Monday, and a veteran defender suffered a notable injury during 11-on-11 drills.
Per ESPN's Mike Reiss, Patriots linebacker Jahlani Tavai had to be helped off the field by safety Jabrill Peppers after suffering a leg injury. Players knelt down around Tavai after the injury, and the music playing in the background stopped for the practice session.
According to Reiss, Tavai put limited pressure on his right leg as he was being helped off the field.
The 28-year-old linebacker recorded 115 sacks, one sack, five pass deflections and an interception in the 2024 season.
