New England Patriots cornerback Alex Austin feels confident in playing the slot corner position if the team needs him to move inside.
Traditionally, Austin has played as an outside corner. He did play some in the slot last season. He played a season-high 15.8 percent of his snaps in the slot against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15 last year, per statistics from Player Profiler.
Austin impressed in last Saturday's preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings, when he gave up only one catch on four targets. It was there that he demonstrated his ability to play the slot position at a high level.
