Washington Commanders All-Pro wide receiver Terry McLaurin has been a dream trade target for the New England Patriots throughout the offseason. But few expected contract negotiations between McLaurin and the Commanders to break down to the point of a Patriots trade even being a possibility.
On Thursday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz dropped a report that reminded NFL fans that there is no such thing as a sure thing in the NFL. McLaurin, who is an apparent hold-in at training camp, reportedly requested a trade from the Commanders.
The decision comes with McLaurin playing in the final year of his contract and stalled negotiations between the two sides.
