Patriots signing nine-year veteran DT, releasing undrafted rookie

The New England Patriots announced they are signing defensive tackle Kyle Peko and releasing Bryce Ganious on Monday.

This will be Peko's seventh team in a nine-year NFL career. He most recently appeared in only five games with the Detroit Lions after starting in 10 games the previous year under Mike Vrabel with the Tennessee Titans. Overall, he has tallied 58 tackles, two sacks and two pass deflections in 47 career games.

Ganious signed on as an undrafted rookie back in May. So this move gives the Patriots more experience along the defensive front.
