Shortly after the 2019 NFL draft concluded, reports started to come out about the New England Patriots’ activities on the free agency market. When the dust had finally settled, the world champions were reported to have signed eleven players alongside their ten draft choices. When the official announcements were made last Thursday, however, only ten undrafted rookie free agents were on the list of players to join the team.
The eleventh player — wide receiver Xavier Ubosi — was nowhere to be found, even though he was still expected to join the Patriots.
