After Tuesday's surprising release, the New England Patriots are bringing back rookie edge defender Bradyn Swinson as a member of their 16-man practice squad, per ESPN's Mike Reiss.
Moving on from Swinson was a risky move by the Patriots because it allowed other teams a chance to claim him on waivers. However, the rookie fifth-round draft pick went through waivers unclaimed and signed back to the Patriots' practice squad.
Swinson was a key part of the LSU Tigers' defense last year, racking up 58 tackles, 8.5 sacks, three pass deflections and two forced fumbles. He earned Second-Team All-SEC honors for his efforts.
