A short time after locking up Pro Bowl kicker Stephen Gostkowski on a long-term deal, the Patriots have done the same for his special teams partner Ryan Allen.
The Pats signed the 25-year-old punter to a three-year contract extension, Allen’s agent, Sean Stellato, confirmed yesterday.
Allen, who was to be in the final year of the rookie deal he signed in 2013, averaged 46.4 yards per punt last season, good for sixth in the AFC. He had a net average of 39.9. Of his 66 punts, 25 were downed inside the 20-yard line.
