FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —
The New England Patriots have drafted a quarterback in the first round for the second time in four years, as they selected Drake Maye with the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
Maye was a two-year starter at the University of North Carolina. He was the Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year in the Atlantic Coast Conference as a redshirt freshman in 2022. Last season, he was a Second Team All-ACC player.
"I'm stoked. I'm super pumped," Maye said, speaking with Patriots reporters after the pick.
