A roster that once stood at 91 is close to standing at 53.
The New England Patriots released veteran running back JaMycal Hasty and waived outside linebacker Truman Jones as the NFL’s cutdown deadline nears.
The moves were first reported by the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed and ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
Hasty, 28, had re-signed with the Patriots during training camp and handled 76 snaps in the preseason between offense and special teams. The 5-foot-8, 205-pound running back initially landed in Foxborough as a waiver claim in 2023. He went on to appear in 15 games last campaign, averaging 23.
