Patriots reportedly place wideout Josh Gordon on injured reserve

Josh Gordon’s season came to a close Wednesday afternoon.

The New England Patriots have placed the wide receiver on injured reserve, as Field Yates of ESPN reported.

Gordon did not practice last week. The 28-year-old remained listed as a non-participant on New England’s injury report to begin this week, but was present for the team’s walkthrough.

Gordon had exited the Patriots’ Oct. 10 win over the New York Giants with knee and ankle injuries, and would be ruled out ahead of Monday night’s 33-0 win over the New York Jets.

The Patriots acquired fellow wideout Mohamed Sanu from the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft on Tuesday.
