Cam McCormick is finally making a career change, thanks to the New England Patriots.
McCormick, who infamously had nine seasons of college football eligibility that ran out this past season, was hired by the organization as a scouting assistant, per NFL reporter Ari Meirov.
Yes, you read that correctly.
McCormick, 27, has one of the most interesting stories you’ll ever hear from a collegiate athlete, spending the last nine years attending Oregon (2016-2022) and Miami (2023-24). Why? It’s mostly a combination of injuries and freak accidents, as his early career included knee injuries, a bout with rhabdomyolysis, ankle reconstruction, a malfunctioning screw in his leg and — to top it all off — a torn Achilles.
