The New England Patriots just released one of the NFL's top safeties — and after Minkah Fitzpatrick's Steel City exit, the Pittsburgh Steelers should pay close attention.
On Friday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Patriots were releasing safety Jabrill Peppers — who is still due $4.32 million guaranteed on his contract in 2025.
Since entering the NFL in 2017, Peppers has produced seven interceptions, 511 combined tackles, and 30 tackles for loss in 99 games, 85 of which were starts. Peppers' experience isn't the only selling point, as he also ranks as the fourth-highest-rated safety over the past two seasons, per Pro Football Focus.
