The New England Patriots offensive line has struggled mightily this season, failing to protect their quarterbacks sufficiently or provide running lanes for their stable of running backs.

After another loss on Sunday, the Patriots are switching things up with their up front, as they announced the release of offensive lineman Liam Fornadel from the team's practice squad.

Fornadel, 25, played collegiately for James Madison before joining the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL as an undrafted free agent. After a month in Canada, he joined the DC Defenders of the XFL for two seasons, earning All-XFL honors in 2023.
