New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson told NFL Network that he lost 10-plus pounds in an effort to gain more speed on the football field. That's a good amount of weight for a player who was already in shape.
The veteran running back showed up to training camp looking noticeably slimmer than he has in previous years. He confirmed the weight loss in a recent interview.
"I'm down like 10, 11 pounds. It's just better weight, though. A lot of lean muscle on me now ... I'm trying to unlock breakaway speed," Stevenson told NFL Network, via ESPN's Mike Reiss.
