The New England Patriots placed veteran guard Wes Schweitzer on the reserve/retired list, per an announcement from the team on Tuesday.
Schweitzer, who spent his last two seasons with the New York Jets, was signed as an unrestricted free agent on March 17. He has played nine NFL seasons with stops at the Jets, Atlanta Falcons and Washington Commanders.
In 90 regular season game appearances, he had 62 starts in total with experience at every interior position. Schweitzer was believed to be in the mix for the starting left guard position in New England.
