Patriots place seven on PUP, NFI lists heading into training camp

Seven players will begin on the sidelines as training camp begins in Foxborough.

The New England Patriots sent wide receiver Jeremiah Webb, cornerback Carlton Davis and safety Josh Minkins to the non-football injury list on Saturday, according to the NFL transaction wire. Additionally, tight end Austin Hooper, wide receiver Mack Hollins, offensive tackle Vederian Lowe and linebacker Jahlani Tavai have been sent to the physically unable to perform list.

Each continues to count on the active roster and can start practicing at any point in the preseason. A move to the NFI and PUP reserve lists, which would result in missing a minimum of four games to open the regular season, would arrive as clubs around the league reduce from 90 to 53.
