Patriots Notebook: Warm smiles in Fla.

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Like plenty of other New Englanders, the Patriots traveled to South Florida to start the new year and are enjoying the change in climate that the Sunshine State has to offer.

The team left Foxboro on Thursday to prepare for tomorrow’s matchup with the Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens. They spent yesterday practicing at Florida Atlantic University as Gillette Stadium hosted the Winter Classic.

“Huge game for us,” cornerback Logan Ryan said. “(We can) get acclimated to the weather, the heat, the field.”

The weather here was slightly different than in Foxboro, where the temperature at the start of the Bruins-Canadiens game was 40 degrees.
