Providence holds a special place in the heart of Matthew Slater. That was seen on Wednesday when the Patriots Pro Bowler was donning a black shirt that read, ‘Hi, William D'Abate Elementary 5th graders.”
Slater explained that he and his wife, Dr. Shahrzad Ehdaivand Slater, “adopted a fifth-grade elementary class” and he wanted to give the students from the Providence school a shout-out.
“We’re excited about our young people and the education they are receiving,” Slater said. “We’re happy to partner with them.
