The New England Patriots hosted linebacker Wes Steiner and guard Marcus Wehr for tryouts at Day 1 of mandatory minicamp on Monday, per Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed.
Steiner was signed by the Las Vegas Raiders to attend their rookie minicamp and waived shortly after. Wehr was part of the Seattle Seahawks' offseason program, but he ultimately left without a contract. He spent six seasons at Montana State, where he showed his versatility along the offensive line by playing at the guard and tackle positions.
Mike Onwenu has the right guard position under lock and key, but the Patriots were willing to experiment at left guard during OTAs.
