The New England Patriots had one unexpected absence at the start of training camp on Wednesday, as second-year wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk was not present.
Polk had been recovering from a shoulder injury that limited his participation throughout the spring practices. He is looking to bounce back from a disappointing rookie season last year. All told, he recorded 12 catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns.
He looked to be off to a strong start with a touchdown reception in last year's season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals, but he seemingly fell off a cliff after that game.
