Patriots guard Tre' Jackson to open season on PUP list

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Second-year New England Patriots right guard Tre' Jackson, who started nine games as a rookie, will open the 2016 season on the reserve/physically-unable-to-perform list, the club announced Monday.

The 6-foot-4, 320-pound Jackson, who was a fourth-round draft choice from Florida State last year, underwent offseason knee surgery. The health of his knees was a concern for some teams last year entering the draft, but Jackson was an opening-day starter for the Patriots in 2015, playing in 13 games overall.
