FOXBOROUGH — Patriots star cornerback Christian Gonzalez is on the right track as he navigates through the NFL’s concussion protocol.
Despite suffering a concussion during last Sunday’s victory over the Chargers in the wild-card round of the playoffs, the defensive back was back on the practice field Wednesday as the Patriots prepared for Sunday’s divisional-round bout against the Texans at Gillette Stadium.
According to New England’s injury report, Gonzalez was a limited participant during Wednesday’s practice, meaning that he’s officially reached Stage 4 of the league’s five-step “return to participation” protocol.
