New England Patriots defensive tackle Milton Williams was just as surprised as everybody else when he saw Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro defender Jalen Carter get ejected on the first play of Thursday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.
It was hard to see what happened initially. There was a brief verbal exchange between Carter and Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, and then a flag was thrown. Most thought it was a normal unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, but then the referee called for Carter to be ejected.
On closer inspection during the replay, Carter could be seen spitting on Prescott after the verbal exchange.
