The New England Patriots may have missed the playoffs in each of the last three seasons, but the six-time Super Bowl champions are still the team of the millennium, according to ESPN.
Senior NFL writer Bill Barnwell revealed his list of the 25 best teams since 2000 on Tuesday, and the Patriots are the most represented group in the league. Not only that, but all four of their appearances on the ranking come inside the top 11 and the 2001, 2014 and 2018 New England teams were all honorable mentions.
The first Patriots team to appear on the countdown is the 2016 squad, which finished 17-2 (including the playoffs) and won Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons, 34-28.
