Patriots defense surrenders touchdown to Bills, first one it has allowed this season

The New England Patriots defense has been off to a fantastic start. Entering Week 4, the Patriots had allowed an NFL-stingiest 17 points to their three opponents, but 14 of those points were on special teams and offense — last week, the New York Jets scored on a muffed punt and on an interception return for a touchdown.

So the defense was responsible for only three points, after a third-quarter field goal in the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The group allowed three more points late in the first half on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, but didn’t give up their first touchdown until 10:37 remained in the third quarter of the fourth game of the season, ending their streak of 214 minutes, 23 seconds to open this year.
