Patriots could be facing off against their former 1st-round pick in Miami

The New England Patriots could be facing off against an old friend on Sunday afternoon in Miami.

With the Dolphins in need of reinforcements on the offensive line, Miami is signing former Patriots offensive lineman Cole Strange off the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Strange was one the top draft whiffs in recent memory for the Patriots, with New England selecting the former offensive lineman out of UT Chattanooga with the 29th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Initially deemed a reach at the time — especially with the Patriots in need of high-end skill elsewhere across the depth chart — Strange’s three seasons in Foxborough were marred by injury and ineffectiveness.
