Patriots coaches impressed with Keshawn Martin's emergence

With the Patriots receiving corps ailing, one backup has stepped up and seized the opportunity in front of him.

The respective absences of Julian Edelman (foot) and Danny Amendola (knee) have opened the door for Keshawn Martin to get extended first-team reps.

When Brady was under duress in last Sunday's loss to the Jets, he began to get tunnel vision for one wide-out, and it wasn't Brandon LaFell, the receiver he won a Lombardi Trophy with last February.

Brady targeted Martin 11 times (seven catches, 68 yards). He threw to LaFell once. The Patriots coaching staff has taken notice of Martin's emergence.
