New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick refused to go into details about the status of backup quarterback Matt Corral, who the team placed on the exempt/left squad list Saturday.
“He’s in exempt status, and I don’t have any comment on it," Belichick said after the Patriots' Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. “That’s a personal matter.”
Corral reportedly didn't shown up for team practices, walkthrough or meetings for two days at the end of last week. The Patriots claimed Corral off waivers after the team released Bailey Zappe ahead of Week 1.
