It's going to be a long trip back to Foxborough after the drubbing the New England Patriots took at the hands of the New York Giants in Thursday's preseason finale.
Granted, the Patriots' starters, including quarterback Drake Maye, didn't play in the game, but there were appearances by players expected to contribute in the 2025 season. With jobs on the line and playing time hanging in the balance, there was no sense of urgency for the Patriots.
On the flipside, the Giants approached it like a regular-season game and got their desired outcome—a 42-10 shellacking to close out the exhibition slate.
