Patriots begin roster cuts by reportedly releasing veteran guard

The New England Patriots reportedly started their round of massive roster cuts on Friday by releasing veteran guard Tyrese Robinson, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Robinson was claimed on waivers after being released by the Minnesota Vikings last season, and he initially looked competitive at left guard.

It has been a revolving door of Patriots players trying to fill the left guard position. That position could be locked down in the future by rookie interior offensive lineman Jared Wilson, but throughout the spring and training camp, it has been an open competition.
