The New England Patriots have released undrafted rookie offensive lineman Cole Birdow. This news was announced by the team on Monday.

Birdow was officially signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent on May 9. He was a local product, having played offensive tackle at Merrimack. He began his collegiate career as a defensive lineman at Old Dominion before transferring to Merrimack, where he found his most success.

Birdow was on the list of players who attended rookie minicamp over the weekend. It was a three-day orientation for first-year players making the transition to the NFL.
