FOXBOROUGH - With training camp officially kicking off Wednesday, the highly-touted cornerback duo of Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis III will come into focus in earnest.
Davis, who signed a 3-year, $60 million contract with the Patriots during free agency, wasn’t around for many of the OTA sessions, although he did participate in minicamp.
Even though he was recently placed on the (non-football injury) NFI list, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel said Tuesday he expected Davis to be ready for the start of camp.
Gonzalez, for one, was looking forward to having his sidekick across the way.
