Patriots activate core special-teamer Brandon King off physically unable to perform

The New England Patriots removed Brandon King from physically unable to perform on Saturday after the core special-teamer passed his physical, according to the NFL transaction wire.

King made his official return to the Gillette Stadium practice fields in time for the fourth session of training camp. The 28-year-old had missed the entirety of 2019 and 2020 after suffering a torn quadriceps during an August preseason matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

The final year of a two-year, $2.6 million contract extension is ahead for King, who arrived as an undrafted free agent by way of Highland Community College and Auburn University in 2015.
