Ohio State is expected to hire Josh Boyer, a longtime NFL assistant coach, for an unspecified role on its support staff, according to a report from ESPN.
Boyer was the defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins from 2020-22 after he spent 13 years as an assistant with the New England Patriots.
Twelve out of his 13 years in New England overlapped with Matt Patricia, the Buckeyes’ new defensive coordinator who was also then an assistant for legendary coach Bill Belichick. Boyer was a part of three Super Bowl championships with the Patriots.
