One of the biggest surprises at Patriots training camp this summer has been Efton Chism III.
The undrafted rookie wideout from Eastern Washington has made a serious push for a 53-man roster spot. Chism starred in a 20-12 win over Minnesota earlier this month, catching six passes for 71 yards, including a touchdown where the 5-foot-10 pass catcher ran through six tacklers and seemed to will himself over the goal line.
On WEEI Afternoons after Monday’s practice, Drake Maye spoke glowingly about what the rookie has brought to camp this summer.
“It’s a great example of a guy coming in here trying to earn a role doing things the right way,” Maye said on WEEI.
