Training camp and preseason are in the books, now the New England Patriots are on to building a first 53-man team of the 2025 season.
By 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Aug. 26, New England and the league’s other 31 clubs will have to reduce their rosters from a maximum of 90 to no more than 53. This means that hundreds of players are about to hit waivers and the open market over the next few days, including up to 38 Patriots.
Besides a boatload of cuts, there also will be plenty of other transactions ranging from trades, to waiver wire pickups, to free agent signings, to players being moved to injury lists.
