Not long ago, there were eight head coaching vacancies in the NFL.
They’ve all been filled over the last few weeks, and none of the new coaches are named Bill Belichick.
There are several reasons for this, according to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe. Howe spelled out three of the big ones in a recent column.
“Three primary reasons were echoed by numerous league sources,” Howe wrote.” Belichick’s mishandling of the Patriots’ quarterback situation in recent years, his desire to maintain total control of football operations and a growing concern over the coach’s ability to relate to this generation of players.
