The trade winds were a-blowin’ in Foxborough, but it appears they never reached the intensity to blow the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft elsewhere.
The New England Patriots are instead expected to hold onto the selection, according to a report by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. The belief around the league is that the team will then invest that pick into North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye.
The Patriots have not shied away from making their intentions public that they were open to trading the third overall pick. Director of scouting Eliot Wolf, who is making the final call on decisions as the team’s de facto general manager, just recently spoke about New England being “open for business” on the trade market.
