EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Giants have added two players to their defense.
The team claimed cornerback Asa Jackson and defensive lineman Louis Nix off waivers on Sunday. To make room on their roster, they cut defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis and cornerback Mike Harris.
Nix was cut Saturday by the Houston Texans, who drafted him in the third round last year. But he was inactive for the first three weeks and was then placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Jackson was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round of the 2012 draft.
