New England Patriots release Cole Strange, 2 recent draft picks to reach 53-man limit

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —

Cole Strange, a first-round draft pick in 2022, and two players selected in the latest NFL Draft were released by the New England Patriots on Tuesday as the team made roster moves to reach the NFL's 53-man limit.

A total of 21 players were released and two were placed on injured reserve.

Strange, 27, was drafted 29th overall. He appeared in 30 games with 29 starts for the Patriots but suffered an injury in December 2023 and was limited to just three games in 2024.

The team announced that 2025 NFL Draft selections Kobee Minor, 23, and Bradyn Swinson, 23, were also released.
