J.J. Taylor only got four carries in Sunday’s win over the Dolphins, but he made them count.
The undrafted rookie racked up 28 yards on the ground and caught a pass out of the backfield, too. At 5-foot-6, the speedy back seemed to disappear behind the offensive line before bursting through it. Taylor’s performance may have surprised people watching at home — and the Dolphins — but not the Patriots coaching staff.
“About what I hoped for and actually what I expected," running backs coach Ivan Fears said via video call on Wednesday.
