New England Patriots place Josh Uche, Tashawn Bower on injured reserve

Josh Uche’s rookie season is officially over due to a foot injury.

The Patriots linebacker was placed on injured reserve for the second time this season on Thursday afternoon, along with Tashawn Bower (neck/concussion). They’ll both miss Sunday’s season finale against the Jets. Uche wound up playing in nine games, with his role increasing down the stretch, and Bill Belichick offered a positive endorsement of the second-round pick’s play earlier this week.

“[We] like Josh. I think he’s done a lot of positive things for us in the kicking game and defensively has some versatility,” Belichick said.
