The 2025 kicking battle is over in Foxborough. The New England Patriots are going with rookie Andy Borregales.

As first reported by MassLive’s Mark Daniels, the Patriots waived veteran kicker Parker Romo on Tuesday ahead of the roster cut deadline. That leaves Borregales as the lone kicker on New England’s roster.

The move ends what was one of the most underrated position battles in camp this year. The Patriots have with consistency on field goals ever since the team traded away Nick Folk.

Now, after giving up on former draft pick Chad Ryland and moving on from Joey Slye, the Patriots are moving forward with the 22-year-old Borregales.
