Mike Pereira says Eagles’ use of illegal formation on trick play ‘should’ve been called’: The so-called “Philly Special,” where Eagles quarterback Nick Foles caught a touchdown pass in Super Bowl LII, should’ve been deemed an illegal formation, according to former NFL head of officiating Mike Pereira.

“We always use a yard [within the line of scrimmage], maybe a yard-and-a-half,” said Pereira.
